never really got into tattoos, way too permanent for my liking. i know too many people who have tattoed their girlfriends name (how stupid is that) and even their wifes name only to have to get it covered up later for obvious reasons. I have a friend who is the 'biggest nu-metal, death metalhead' around here (and if you don't believe me just ask him, he will tell you, if you know what i mean) and he is covered in grateful dead tattoos from highschool. this even holds true for the tribal band around the arm. back in say '95 it looked pretty cool but now you might as well just get the words hot topic tattooed around your arm instead. it must suck to go from being 'hardcore' with your tribal band to 'trendy mall kid' in only a few years.
now somethings i can see getting tattooed if you are into them. i have a freind who is thinking about getting a set of dates that are important to her done as a tattoo. that i can see because the dates will never change. that or getting your kid's name done because partners and spouses (though they shouldn't) come and go but you will never leave your kids, at least you better not.
